My dad was big into slot car racing. This article (likely published in the Elmhurst Press) was written after his win in the Ford Chicago Model Racing Car Championship held in Elmhurst in 1966. I wonder if I still have that trophy he’s holding….

Wow, how exciting! My Dad and his best friend were also nuts about slot car racing! I remember just about every Saturday night, My Dad, me, and my brother would meet his friend and son at the slot car track on McCart Street in Fort Worth, Texas. This was in the late 1960’s. We had so much fun! What wonderful memories! Thanks for sharing!
