Bring their stories to life for your readers.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Most of my McMAHON clan is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Cook, Illinois.\u00a0 The family has two plots: one in section 24 and one in section T.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/_udfzp1vLXt0\/SiTvNn4w6UI\/AAAAAAAADd0\/VTSIL3jhWH4\/P1000983%5B5%5D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"260\" height=\"200\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" \/> There are five family members buried in section 24:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timothy J McMAHON (my second great-grandfather)<\/li>\n<li>Sarah Jane WARD McMahon (my second great-grandmother)<\/li>\n<li>Nellie Helen FENNEMA McMahon (Timothy and Sarah\u2019s daughter-in-law)<\/li>\n<li>Marie Doris McMAHON (Nellie\u2019s infant daughter)<\/li>\n<li>Unknown McMAHON (Nellie\u2019s infant son)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What\u2019s interesting about this site is that this little Irish family is buried among an overwhelming amount of Italian families.\u00a0 Additionally, my grandaunt told me that everyone is buried near a tree; that was the deal when the plots were purchased.\u00a0 And so far, she\u2019s right (other family, including my dad, are buried in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, DuPage, Illinois; both family plots are near a tree.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/_udfzp1vLXt0\/SiTvN271j_I\/AAAAAAAADd4\/g4aR314wEcM\/P1010007%5B6%5D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"200\" height=\"260\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" \/> There are six family members buried in section T:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timothy McMAHON (my third great-grandfather, father to Timothy J. listed above)<\/li>\n<li>Margaret RYAN McMAHON (my third great-grandmother, father to Timothy J. listed above)<\/li>\n<li>Jeremiah \u201cJerry\u201d William McMAHON (son of Timothy and Margaret)<\/li>\n<li>Nellie McMAHON (daughter of Timothy and Margaret)<\/li>\n<li>John Joseph McMAHON (son of Timothy and Margaret)<\/li>\n<li>Elizabeth \u201cLizzie\u201d V McMAHON Francoeur (daughter of Timothy and Margaret)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This group is buried in a mostly (if not all) Irish section of the cemetery.\u00a0 And of course, they are right by a tree.<\/p>\n<p>There is a family monument on the site in section T, bearing the surname.\u00a0 Someday, I would like to have all of their names inscribed on the monument.\u00a0 I would also like to erect a monument at the site in section 24, identical to the one in section T, and with the names of those buried there inscribed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prompt:\u00a0 Visit a cemetery and talk about your ancestors buried there.
