Weekly column sharing genealogy-related things that I\u2019ve learned or found.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Illinois State Genealogical Society Blog<\/a> \u2013 I am happy to report that we have launched the society into the social network.\u00a0 Be sure to visit our ISGS blog<\/a>, become a fan at our Facebook Fan Page<\/a>, and follow us via Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Illinois State Historical Society Journals<\/a> \u2013 This publication is now available online for the years 1950-2006.<\/p>\n A Century of Population Growth: From the First Census of the United States to the Twelfth, 1790\u20131900<\/a> \u2013 This book published by the Census Bureau in 1909, is available via Google Books<\/a>.<\/p>\n Birth Records Available to Those Adopted in Illinois<\/a> \u2013 On 21 May 2010, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed a bill that allows adoptees born in Illinois to access their original birth certificate, WITHOUT a court order.\u00a0 \u201cAdopted adults born before Jan. 1, 1946, can immediately request copies of their original birth certificates, and those born after Jan. 1, 1946 can do so beginning Nov. 15, 2011.
