{"id":673,"date":"2010-09-04T23:07:00","date_gmt":"2010-09-05T04:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/rottman-letter-circa-june-1940\/"},"modified":"2013-07-07T16:15:27","modified_gmt":"2013-07-07T21:15:27","slug":"rottman-letter-circa-june-1940","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/rottman-letter-circa-june-1940\/","title":{"rendered":"Rottman Letter, Circa June 1940"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the next several days I will be featuring letters written by my great-grandfather, George Rottman.\u00a0 The letters were written to his children while he was away from home visiting family in Iowa and Wisconsin in the 1940s.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Although this first letter is not dated, I am pretty sure it was written about June 1940 (he mentions a sale that ends July 3rd;
