It\u2019s a well-organized cemetery, broken into sections and most gravestones are facing the same direction in any given section. It\u2019s hard to see from this photo, but trust me, they\u2019re pretty much all facing the same direction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/julietarr.com\/genealogy\/blog\/images\/b8bd1b8a2238_B60E\/FamilyPlotElmwood.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"FamilyPlotElmwood\" src=\"http:\/\/julietarr.com\/genealogy\/blog\/images\/b8bd1b8a2238_B60E\/FamilyPlotElmwood_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"FamilyPlotElmwood\" width=\"570\" height=\"432\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Great, right? I mean, you can start in a row and walk it, while reading each gravestone. The problem? Sometimes there are things on the \u201cBACK\u201d of the stones! This is especially true for \u201cmonument\u201d stones that are placed in the center of a lot and display the names of various people buried in the same lot. I\u2019m in the habit of this now, but early on I made this rookie mistake\u2014a lot!
