Memories of Christmas at grandma and grandpa’s house, with my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousins. I remember that I always got to open my presents first because we went in order from youngest to oldest. I would drive my cousins crazy, taking my sweet time unwrapping my gifts (as I got older, this was mostly deliberate!).

I also remember a big turkey dinner with all the fixings: mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (yuck!), stuffing, peas and/or corn, gravy, and cranberry sauce. I’m sure there were pies, but since I didn’t eat them, I don’t really remember; but I do remember there was always a Jell-O mold. It’s been over thirty years since we were all together. I do miss those times.

Week 50 Prompt: Tradition This week’s 52 Ancestors theme is “Tradition.” Since it’s almost Christmas, holiday traditions popped into my head.
