{"id":598,"date":"2011-08-31T20:57:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T01:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/dont-forget-to-say-thank-you\/"},"modified":"2013-07-06T19:29:43","modified_gmt":"2013-07-07T00:29:43","slug":"dont-forget-to-say-thank-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/dont-forget-to-say-thank-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Don\u2019t Forget to Say \u2018Thank You\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/-LRZ2AeFDz9A\/Tl7meDhStdI\/AAAAAAAAF3I\/wpa4NrRU6RQ\/thanks%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to believe that at this time next week I will be finishing up my first day of sessions and activities at my first national genealogy conference.\u00a0 And after working on the <a href=\"http:\/\/fgs.org\/2011conference\/\">FGS 2011 Conference<\/a> for over a year, I must admit that I\u2019m happy, yet sad, it\u2019s almost over.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Like many of the other wonderful volunteers that have worked hard to put this year\u2019s conference together, I\u2019ve been extremely busy and very focused on the conference and have had to put off some things\u2026but it\u2019s all been worth it.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had the chance to work with some great people and learn and grow from the experience.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me to the title of this post.\u00a0 If you are attending the conference, be sure to say \u201cthank you\u201d to any of the volunteers you come in contact with.\u00a0 Volunteers come in many packages and include those who are working at the conference (i.e., room monitors) to committee chairmen.\u00a0 When you see someone wearing an \u201cAsk Me\u201d button or the like, take a minute to say hello and thank them for their hard work in making your conference experience enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to all of the volunteers who will be working various aspects during of the conference, don\u2019t forget to thank the conference\/committee chairmen for all of their hard work over the past year-and-a-half (plus) to put together a wonderful conference full of great sessions, speakers, and special events.\u00a0 These folks include Pat Oxley, FGS President;
