Here\u2019s a fun little contest for EVERYONE (including my non-genealogy friends).\u00a0 One entrant will receive a $100 Visa gift card, and two entrants will each receive a $50 Visa gift card.<\/p>\n

\"1940ProjectBadge\"<\/a> What do I have to do?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This contest is related to the upcoming release of the 1940 US Federal Census on April 2, 2012.\u00a0 FamilySearch<\/a> is preparing for the indexing of the census, and has created a few \u201csimulation\u201d batches in the indexing software for you to practice.<\/p>\n

All you have to do is download the indexing software (if you haven\u2019t already) and complete one of the simulation batches.\u00a0 For complete contest details and instructions, visit Weekly Contest \u2013 Week of March 19<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Remember, it\u2019s not just genealogists and historians who are excited about the release of the 1940 census.\u00a0 Be sure to let your friends and family know about the indexing project and get them involved.\u00a0 If each one of my 900+ Facebook friends were to index just ONE page, that would amount to 36,000 people indexed\u2026I think that\u2019s a pretty big chunk!\u00a0 Be sure to sign up to become an indexer<\/a>, even if you’ don\u2019t participate in the contest.<\/p>\n
