{"id":408,"date":"2013-01-12T17:38:00","date_gmt":"2013-01-12T23:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/luxembourg-censuses-online-via-familysearch\/"},"modified":"2013-07-05T12:41:10","modified_gmt":"2013-07-05T17:41:10","slug":"luxembourg-censuses-online-via-familysearch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/luxembourg-censuses-online-via-familysearch\/","title":{"rendered":"Luxembourg Censuses Online Via FamilySearch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I discovered that the censuses for Luxembourg were added to FamilySearch ten days ago.\u00a0 This is VERY exciting for me.\u00a0 Now whether they are all there for each commune from 1843 to 1900 I can\u2019t say, but for the areas I\u2019m interested in, they seem to be complete.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/familysearch.org\/pal:\/MM9.3.1\/TH-1961-32359-13130-71?cc=2037957&amp;wc=M9MJ-1T6:n7209098\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none;\" title=\"SCHWARTZ, Heinrich - 1843 LUX Census\" alt=\"SCHWARTZ, Heinrich - 1843 LUX Census\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/-eELqMjyA1E0\/UPHl-cwhSbI\/AAAAAAAAHkQ\/DjLKCPSUYl4\/SCHWARTZ%25252C%252520Heinrich%252520-%2525201843%252520LUX%252520Census%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"400\" height=\"221\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Click on the image to view the full-size version in the FamilySearch viewer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We all know how wonderful censuses are when it comes to our American and Canadian research.\u00a0 And Luxembourg censuses don\u2019t disappoint.\u00a0 I know the example looks bland, but here are a few highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They were conducted about <em>every three years<\/em>.\u00a0 Great for tracking the family!<\/li>\n<li>A married woman\u2019s <em>maiden<\/em> name is listed.\u00a0 This is HUGE!!!<\/li>\n<li>Some censuses recorded <em>exact birth dates<\/em> (as in the example above), while sometimes just the year was recorded;
