href=\"http:\/\/www.geneamusings.com\/2013\/06\/saturday-night-genealogy-fun-your.html\" target=\"_blank\">Saturday Night Genealogy Fun<\/a> is aimed at taking a look at your genealogy database stats as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>If you have your family tree research in a Genealogy Management Program (GMP), whether a computer software program or an online family tree, figure out how to find how many persons, places, sources, etc. are in your database (hint:\u00a0 the Help button is your friend!).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Tell us which GMP you use, and how many persons, places, sources, etc. are in your database(s) today in a blog post of your own, in a comment to this blog post, or in a Facebook status or Google+ stream comment.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We did a <a href=\"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/sngf-how-many-surnames\/\" target=\"_blank\">similar challenge in 2011<\/a>, so I though I\u2019d take this challenge a step further and compare my stats now to what they were then.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In Legacy, I went to the <em>Help<\/em> menu and chose <em>General Information<\/em>.\u00a0 Here are my results as of today:<\/p>\n<p><img It makes sense, though, as I have been focusing on a few specific families in the last two years, which is evident when I run my list of surnames and compare it to the 2011 list.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"surnamelist\" alt=\"surnamelist\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/-ImUnpioCF6I\/UcYGuJ87Q6I\/AAAAAAAAI0Y\/XkW-XVWFQek\/surnamelist%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"481\" height=\"466\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Schwartz had the biggest jump of the surnames that were in the top 22 in 2011.\u00a0 Kremer wasn\u2019t even in the top 22 in 2011.\u00a0 These are the two main lines I have been working on for the last two years.\u00a0 The addition of individuals, families, and surnames are probably most directly related to this area of my research.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, about half of the surnames on this list are very distant collateral lines that I got swept into during my \u201cname collecting\u201d phase early on.\u00a0 Hopefully in another few years, once I\u2019ve continued with researching more of my
