{"id":1217,"date":"2008-09-08T20:22:00","date_gmt":"2008-09-09T01:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/family-heirloom-meme-my-treasures\/"},"modified":"2013-07-13T01:09:08","modified_gmt":"2013-07-13T06:09:08","slug":"family-heirloom-meme-my-treasures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/family-heirloom-meme-my-treasures\/","title":{"rendered":"Family Heirloom Meme &#8211; My Treasures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a recent <a title=\"Family Heirlooms\" href=\"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/family-heirlooms\/\" target=\"_blank\">post<\/a>, I stated that I was going to create a disaster plan to figure out what is important for me to save if a disaster were to occur.\u00a0 I challenged others to do the same and will post their responses in a post next week.\u00a0 In the meantime, here are the family treasures I would risk saving in the event of a disaster.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Family Bible<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>This Bible was given to Sarah Norton WEBSTER (my 3rd great-grandmother) by her father Calvin Price WEBSTER in 1850.\u00a0 It&#8217;s very old, and very frail, but a precious memento of my family.\u00a0 Sarah recorded the births, deaths, and marriages of her family in this Bible.\u00a0 She also stored some newspaper clippings, such as obituaries.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"WEBSTER, Sarah Norton WEBSTER Family Bible 01\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/joodles77\/SPfo1vFihfI\/AAAAAAAAABQ\/5auI9O2cZ0Q\/WEBSTER%2C%20Sarah%20Norton%20WEBSTER%20Family%20Bible%2001.jpg\" width=\"205\" height=\"248\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"WEBSTER, Sarah Norton WEBSTER Family Bible 02\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/joodles77\/SPfo12L_2eI\/AAAAAAAAABU\/H-AasEgi2S4\/WEBSTER%2C%20Sarah%20Norton%20WEBSTER%20Family%20Bible%2002%5B6%5D.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"252\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"WEBSTER, Sarah Norton WEBSTER Family Bible 03\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/joodles77\/SPfo2JiHldI\/AAAAAAAAABY\/UhmBchoI0OA\/WEBSTER%2C%20Sarah%20Norton%20WEBSTER%20Family%20Bible%2003.jpg\" width=\"248\" height=\"188\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h6><strong>Grandpa Miller&#8217;s Xylophone<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>My grandma and grandpa, Harold Leslie MILLER &amp; Marie Ethel ROTTMAN bought this cute little xylophone for us grandkids to play with when we visited.\u00a0 It&#8217;s at least 30-years-old.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a keeper!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"MILLER, Harold Leslie MILLER Xylophone\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/joodles77\/SPfo2UvrwaI\/AAAAAAAAABc\/tTYG_Kxhc3Q\/MILLER%2C%20Harold%20Leslie%20MILLER%20Xylophone.jpg\" width=\"248\" height=\"212\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h6><strong>Clue Board Game<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>This one may seem odd, but it&#8217;s one of those things that can&#8217;t easily be replaced.\u00a0 The copyright on the game board is 1949 so this collectible is over 50-years-old. Evidentially, my grandaunt Marge owned it; my mom bought at her garage sale when she preparing to move from Chicago to New York.\u00a0 It is not in pristine condition, so we still play it even today.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CAHILL, Julie Marie CAHILL Clue Board Game\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/joodles77\/SPfo2ii75uI\/AAAAAAAAABg\/YB9gq4lpgMw\/CAHILL%2C%20Julie%20Marie%20CAHILL%20Clue%20Board%20Game.jpg\" width=\"248\" height=\"188\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h6><strong>My Baby Pillow<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Yes, another oddball.\u00a0 I have had this little pillow since I was a baby.\u00a0 It&#8217;s torn and tattered, but I still sleep with it (yes, I know, I&#8217;m over 30 and should&#8217;ve ditched the &#8220;security&#8221;
