{"id":1128,"date":"2008-12-06T17:06:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-06T23:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/tis-the-season\/"},"modified":"2013-07-12T23:05:27","modified_gmt":"2013-07-13T04:05:27","slug":"tis-the-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/tis-the-season\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Tis the Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found this meme over at <a href=\"http:\/\/familyhistorian.blogspot.com\/2008\/12\/christmas-meme.html\" target=\"_blank\">Smoky Mountain Family Historian<\/a> and thought I&#8217;d play along.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wrapping paper or gift bags?<\/strong> I gave up on wrapping two Christmases ago&#8230;gift bags for me!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Real tree or Artificial?<\/strong> &#8211; Artificial for me; allergic to pine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When do you put up the tree?<\/strong> The day after Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When do you take the tree down?<\/strong> New Year&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you like eggnog?<\/strong> Yes (the fake stuff), but it doesn&#8217;t like me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite gift received as a child?<\/strong>\u00a0 A Cabbage Patch doll; it was a gift from my grandfather.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardest person to buy for?<\/strong>\u00a0 My mother-in-law.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Easiest person to buy for?<\/strong> Me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you have a nativity scene?<\/strong> Yes, but I&#8217;m not sure where it is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mail or email Christmas cards?<\/strong> Both; those with email get a bonus \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><strong>Worst Christmas gift you ever received?<\/strong> Can&#8217;t really think of anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite Christmas Movie?<\/strong> I&#8217;m not really into the old-fashion movies.\u00a0 But as a tradition, my hubby and I have watched Christmas Vacation every year since we met, and added Elf when it came out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When do you start shopping for Christmas?<\/strong>\u00a0 The Friday after Thanksgiving; when everyone&#8217;s pushing and shoving at the store, I&#8217;m in my PJ&#8217;s clicking away in cyberspace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?<\/strong> No.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?<\/strong>\u00a0 Cookies!\u00a0 Oh, and Baker&#8217;s Square&#8217;s Candy Can pie (our Baker&#8217;s Square closed and there&#8217;s not one close by&#8230;I&#8217;m bummed that I won&#8217;t get it this year).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lights on the tree?<\/strong> You bet!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite Christmas song?<\/strong> O Holy Night, I just love Clay Aiken&#8217;s performance of this song!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel at Christmas or stay home?<\/strong> Normally stay home, but this year we&#8217;re visiting my mom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can you name all of Santa\u2019s reindeer?<\/strong>\u00a0 Dasher, Prancer, Donner, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Dancer, Vixen, and of course Rudolph (okay, I had to look two of the up).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Angel on the tree top or a star?<\/strong> We got nothing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?<\/strong> Both, we do some on Christmas Eve and some on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Most annoying thing about this time of the year?<\/strong> Rude people (okay that&#8217;s the most annoying thing for me all the time, but they&#8217;re even worse at the holidays).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite ornament theme or color?<\/strong> Don&#8217;t have one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite for Christmas dinner?<\/strong>\u00a0 Turkey dinner with the fixings!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you want for Christmas this year?<\/strong> Not much.\u00a0 I would like an electric throw (my blankie&#8217;s not working to well these days).\u00a0 And no snow on our driving days&#8230;I get really nervous and don&#8217;t want to freak out and decide not to go visit my mom).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also adding a question:<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite thing about the holidays?<\/strong>\u00a0 Decorations&#8230;my husband and I love the lights and driving around to see what everyone&#8217;s done outside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I found this meme over at Smoky Mountain Family Historian and thought I&#8217;d play along.
