{"id":1118,"date":"2008-12-16T17:01:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-16T23:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/for-my-grandaunt-flo-at-christmas\/"},"modified":"2013-07-12T22:52:43","modified_gmt":"2013-07-13T03:52:43","slug":"for-my-grandaunt-flo-at-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/for-my-grandaunt-flo-at-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"For My Grandaunt Flo at Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My mom got an unexpected call from my grandaunt Flo.\u00a0 Although she has some major health issues and is bound to a wheelchair, her mind is well intact.\u00a0 They talked a lot about family.\u00a0 My mom told her I was working on our family history and Flo is more than happy to help me out.\u00a0 I am planning a trip to see her around the holidays.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>My mom informed me that Flo had lost pictures of her first wedding in a house fire.\u00a0 I only have a few (none of her), but I wanted to make her some copies.\u00a0 Instead of simply printing out the photos, I decided to try my hand (for the second time) at digital scrapbooking.<\/p>\n<p>I created three pages, all 300 dpi for printing.\u00a0 And although my printer is fantastic and prints bleeds and high quality prints, I am going to take them to Kinko&#8217;s and have them printed on a thicker paper (copy paper just doesn&#8217;t do photos justice) and save on color ink.\u00a0 I am going to matte and frame them and give them to Flo as a Christmas gift.\u00a0 I hope she enjoys them!<\/p>\n<p>This first one is of Flo&#8217;s wedding, which shows my grandmother, Joan (Flo&#8217;s sister); my grandfather, Jack; and my dad as a little boy (I think that&#8217;s one of her favorite photos, as she remembered it when she talked to my mom).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Aunt Flo's Wedding copy\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_udfzp1vLXt0\/SUglTyZGBBI\/AAAAAAAACqc\/CcaTbQYwaKs\/Aunt%20Flo%27s%20Wedding%20copy%5B4%5D.jpg\" width=\"520\" height=\"667\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This next one is of my grandparent&#8217;s wedding.\u00a0 The group photo is of my grandparent&#8217;s; my granduncle (grandpa&#8217;s brother, Ray); and family friend, &#8220;Aunt&#8221; Pat.\u00a0 You may recognize the friend from an earlier post <a title=\"Are They One in the Same?\" href=\"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/are-they-one-in-the-same\/\">Are They One in the Same?<\/a> (more on that in my next post).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Jack &amp;
