{"id":1060,"date":"2009-02-01T02:33:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-01T08:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/genepedia\/"},"modified":"2013-07-12T19:32:01","modified_gmt":"2013-07-13T00:32:01","slug":"genepedia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genealogy.julietarr.com\/blog\/genepedia\/","title":{"rendered":"Gene@pedia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I decided to take a break from research today, due in part to this nagging pain in the neck (no literally, I pulled a muscle).\u00a0 I&#8217;m burnt out, I think, or maybe it&#8217;s the fantastic pain meds and muscle relaxers, I&#8217;m not sure.\u00a0 But anyway, I decided to explore the new genealogy tool created by our very own Thomas MacEntee.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/geneabloggers.com\/geneapedia\/index.php?title=Main_Page\">Gene@pedia<\/a> is a genealogy wiki.\u00a0 According to the description, it&#8217;s:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Everything you ever wanted to know about blogging and genealogy but were afraid to ask! <a href=\"http:\/\/geneabloggers.com\/geneapedia\/index.php?title=Main_Page\">Gene@pedia<\/a> is a communal information resource directory for the genealogy community that anyone can edit!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So I explored the few pages that were available and thought I&#8217;d jump onboard.\u00a0 I created an account, verified my email address, and got to work.\u00a0 Mind you, this is the first of my wiki experiences, and did I mention the pain meds and muscle relaxers?<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I started off by creating a &#8220;people&#8221; page for <a href=\"http:\/\/geneabloggers.com\/geneapedia\/index.php?title=Tarr%2C_Julie\">myself<\/a>, which is a page that lets you &#8220;enter information about yourself with links to your blogs, your websites, your projects and more.
