52 Ancestors #12: Deaths in 1912

Week 12 Prompt: 12 This week’s 52 Ancestors theme is the number 12. My brain went to the year 1912, and I was curious to see who in my family died in 1912.

Surname Saturday: McMahon (Ireland / Illinois)

My McMAHON line apparently comes from somewhere in County Tipperary, Ireland. Timothy MCMAHON, my third great-grandfather, it the earliest known/proven ancestor in that line. Timothy left Ireland around 1864 and settled in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.

Finding Sarah Jane WARD’s Parents

The first clue to Sarah Jane WARD’s parents came from the 1910 US Federal Census.  Sarah was listed with her husband and two children, living at 1252 Washburne Ave. in Chicago.  Two additional females were listed as the head of household’s mother- and sister-in-law.
