It’s that time again! The Southern California Genealogical Society’s 15th Annual GENEii Writing Contest is now underway. Entries will be accepted from now until December 31, 2014. You do not have to be a member of SCGS to enter, nor does your submission have to relate to California. Entries must be family or local history articles, memoirs, or character sketches, which may or may not have been previously published.
The length of the article will determine the category it fits in:
Category 1 1,000-2,000 words |
Prizes First Place – $200 Second Place – $100 Third Place – $50 |
Category 2 Less than 1,000 words |
Prizes First Place – $100 Second Place – $50 Third Place – $25 |
Winners will be notified by May 1, 2015. Winning entries may be published on the SCGS website, in their journal, or in an anthology of winners.
