11 Tips for Attending RootsTech 2013

With RootsTech 2013 only a few short weeks away, I thought I’d share some tips for attending the conference.

Family History Writing Challenge – Week 4

It’s the last day of the challenge and time for my final report.  And even though this was a super-busy week for me, I still managed to get in four out of seven days of writing.  Let’s see how the last week went. On Friday […]

I received the following press release earlier this month and completely forgot to post it.  Maybe I’ll be able to find something on my second great-grandaunt who lived in England for awhile in the early 1900s.

Findmypast.com Adds UK Criminal Records to Its Collection

I received the following press release a few days ago about a new collection available at Findmypast.com.  Sounds like an interesting set of records.

Surname Saturday – Leppin (Germany / Illinois)

My Leppin line currently ends at my second great-grandfather, Herman LEPPIN. I don’t know much about his roots other than he apparently came from Germany and settled in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.
