Saturday in the Attic – 07/11/09

John Ward McMAHON, my great-grandfather, was apparently a temporary member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves in 1945 and possibly participated in World War II.  Below is a Certificate of Enrollment as a Temporary Member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, dated 27 July 1945.

Orphan Photo #23

This cabinet card hails from Ottawa, Illinois.  Since there is a stamp on the back that reads “Duplicate Ordered. Mar 1892” I would assume that the photo was taken around that time.  Unfortunately there is no identifying information for the woman in the photograph.
