For the many out there who were not aware, one of the reasons I’ve been pretty quiet on my blog and social media lately is because I’ve been super busy (wait, that’s nothing new!). One of the things keeping me busy was accepting the positions of managing editor and design/technical editor for the Illinois State Genealogical Society Quarterly.
I accepted these positions in September and was busy working on my first issue until the end of November. I’m happy to say that the first issue is out and ISGS members should have received their copies late last week or earlier this week.
This is something I have wanted to do for awhile now, and I am thrilled that ISGS gave me the opportunity to serve in this capacity (although secretly I think they were looking for any excuse to get me back on the board *wink*).
I couldn’t have done it alone, though. I have a great staff and they truly made my first issue a delight to work on. Everyone played their part and to that end, we had the issue ready to go a week early, thus allowing everyone to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.
For anyone who is interested in writing for the Quarterly, please download a copy of our submission guidelines. This document explains what types of articles we accept and our criteria for submissions. Please consider this publication when thinking about where to send articles; the Quarterly has a great reputation and reaches over 1,000 members.
Congrats Julie!!
Thanks, Jana.
How exciting! Kind of a Christmas present to you and your team, isn’ it?! Happy Holidays!
