I actually have several very distant cousins who made their way to Utah, many of them ending up in the Salt Lake City area. Because they are very distant, I don’t spend much time on them these days. But, if I did have some time, I know of two websites I would hit up immediately for some information: FamilySearch and Utah Digital Newspapers.
For obvious reasons there are a ton of record sets on the FamilySearch website, many of them digitized. There are death certificates from 1904 to 1956, territorial case files, a marriage index from 1887 to 1966, and even probate records.
Utah Digital Newspapers is a website that is building a repository of digitized newspapers accessible to the public for free. They have a huge collection already and continue to add to it all the time.
I picked a few random names from my database and did some searching on both sites and found some new information. Ahh, if only I had more time to dig!!
