This week I decided to take a look at Nebraska Memories, which “is a cooperative project to digitize Nebraska-related historical and cultural heritage materials and make them available to researchers….” There are several categories to choose from including Maps, Towns, Government, and my favorite, Portraits.
Need a map of the city of Omaha from 1883? They’ve got one. How about a photo of the William Soester farm? Looking for an aerial view of Wayne State College from the 1950s? They’ve got that too.
They have tons of identified photographs, including this one of Harold Cornue, which I just adore.
Lots of great stuff on this site! If you have family from Nebraska, you have to go check it out!!
