Another crazy week for me last week, as I attended yet another institute (and I have one next week too!). Anyway, I attended the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP) for the entire week (virtually) and my brain is swimming in ideas. I felt like I needed to beef up my skills around this subject, so I took Judy Russell’s course Women and Children First! As with all of Judy’s courses, I was not disappointed.

Just a quick post to let you know that I recently updated my list of genealogical and historical mystery books. This list contains a variety of mysteries with a genealogical twist, as well as historical mysteries that would appeal to genealogists. Head on over and check it out! As I suspected, 2021 was much like 2020, and I wasn’t able to get all of my 2021 goals accomplished. Let see how I did. I wanted to attend SLIG and IGHR, and CHECK, I did both. I took Judy Russell’s Corpus Juris: Advanced Legal Concepts for Genealogy at SLIG (and LOVED it!) and I took Michael Strauss’s Military Records I: The Colonial Era to the Vietnam War (which was GREAT!). I also attended RootsTech 2021, NGS 2021, and the 2021 International German Genealogy Conference.

Wow! I’ve been blogging about genealogy for 13 years! I honestly can’t believe it’s been that long, as it seems like yesterday. As always, I want to take a moment to thank all of my loyal followers for sticking with me all these years. It truly means a lot to have your support and I hope that you find little nuggets of gold that help you along your own genealogy journey.

Don’t forget, entries for this year’s National Genealogical Society’s Family History Writing Contest are due by December 15, 2020.  This annual contest is open to NGS members.
