Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to see a “new” option (well, new to “new search”) available on my Categories search results page. In the upper-right corner of the results section, there are now two links that you can toggle between to sort your results.
- Name – Arranges the results in alphabetical order based on the collection title (really helpful when you are working with census records and want to go year by year).
- Results Count – Orders them by the collections with the most hits down to the least amount of hits.
I have been waiting for this alpha-sort option since being forced to switch to “new search.” This make me very happy. Now if I could just eliminate the ten-step process to filter my results to where I want them, I’d be really happy!
