Week 7 Prompt: Love
This week’s 52 Ancestors theme is “love.” I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone in my family married on Valentine’s Day, since that’s tomorrow. As it turns out, I do have relatives that married on that special day.
My grandaunt Mildred Miller married Sidney Hicks on 14 February 1940. I am lucky to have one photo of the couple, although I don’t believe it’s their wedding photo. They were married in 1940 and he is wearing an Army uniform—he served in World War II, but the US wasn’t engaged at the time of the marriage.
